Conceived over the past year and created primarily using a standard Xerox machine, Afloat can be viewed as a continuation of Neukamp's exploration of strategies to destabilize the image. Through processes of sampling, fragmentation, and transferal, Neukamp mines contemporary visual culture to create an installation that hovers “back and forth between material content and spatial imagination.” 1 – 1. Anne Neukamp was born in Düsseldorf, Germany in 1976. She lives and works in Berlin. Her work was recently shown in solo exhibitions at Galerija Gregor Podnar (Berlin, 2015), Greta Meert Gallery (Brussels, 2014), Galerie Chez Valentin (Paris 2014), Agustina Ferreyra (San Juan, 2014), Kunstverein Oldenburg (2013), Wilhelm-Hack Museum (Ludwigshafen, 2012). Recent group shows include include Mitchell-Innes & Nash, New York, Columbia University, New York, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin and Kai10 Arthena Foundation, Düsseldorf, amongst others.In 2015 she was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant, and will spend 6 months at the ISCP Residency Program in New York starting October 2015.

Towards is an online platform dedicated to producing independent art and publishing projects. Founded in 2012 by Kevin Boothe, Towards collaborates with individuals across a variety of disciplines to explore contemporary culture through a mixture of video, photography, and written work.
